Hello friends,

Car accident. A guy trying to overtake a truck from behind was driving too fast. The traffic in front was slowing down. Traffic stopped. The car behind was still going fast.

BOOM! Hits the back. Big damage. Exhaust left hanging. The front hit another car. The hood dented and mangled. It was the guy's fault.

After the police showed up and information exchanges, it was discovered that the guy's insurance expired in January.

What are the options?

Oh that sucks. And it is a new Pilot too. Let your insurance fix it up and let them deal with the guys.

Either the guy pays out of pocket or your insurrance pays for it and they go after the driver. Most policies contain a section for uninsurred drivers.

It's covered under your collision coverage less your deductible.

Hey, I see you're from Riverview. My wife used to teach at East Bay High School not far from you. We moved up north about 3 years ago. We're from Winter Haven, but we lived in Plant City when we were in Hillsborough County.

Damn that sucks, a new Pilot too. At least you weren't hurt.....or were you ;). Make sure he gets reamed. Uninsured and underinsured motorists suck!

jemcam,

yep.. from Riverview, FL.. The accident happened on the Causeway Blvd. bridge -- just after Sea Breeze. The guy who hit the back of the Pilot got a reckless driving ticket.
