For some strange reason changing an USB driver in windows 2K means the computer won't post. Anybody have a link to be6-ii beep codes?

I searched long and hard on abit's site.

beeeeeeeeeeeeep-beep-beep.

Removed all devices and same problem. Thanks in advanced.

Well, not sure what is going on but you might want to check out BIOS Central for some idea of the beep codes. It would help if you knew who the author of your BIOS was; mainly Award of Phoenix. Check out the site.

You video card may not be plugged in all the way. Make sure the inside end is not being restrained from being fully seated by some obstruction.

Shouldn't matter what you do in Win2K software wise that would cause it to fail POST. (exception of flashing BIOS)
Because the POST is waaay before the any software on the hard drive is loaded.

You could take out the hard drive and a computer will still POST.

So likely a coincidence, unless that change caused some kind of change to the settings in BIOS for motherboard or video card.

If there is nothing, such as no video then disconnecting all the cords then only reconnect video and see if anything comes up.
If not reseat video card and try again. That beep usually indicates something to do with video card.

Odd.

Go figure, the video card was very secure but I did wiggle it.

Posted and booted fine.

That's why I was scratching my head "Why the heck is it not posting after I changed a 2000 driver? makie-no-sensie."

Chalk it up to "stuff happens"

Thanks for all your help!
