So there's this used CD I wanted to buy on eBay and it had Make Offer. So I made an offer of $1.35 cheaper than I could get on Amazon (shipping was the same for both) and the idiot counters me way more than Amazon. I counter back with $0.35 cheaper than Amazon, that was my final offer and he still counters with an offer higher than Amazon. Keep in mind this was for 4 or 5 bucks. I simply Declined his offer and put that Amazon had way cheaper sellers than his 2nd counter.

Bottom line is that if you're going to try to nickel and dime me for more than Amazon then you can go fck yourself. This is why Amazon is still king, no hassle where even saving $0.35 on eBay isn't a sure thing. Sad.

Why would you bother with eBay just to save 35 cents over Amazon in the first place? I would have to save a decent amount, say 20% or more depending on the size of the purchase, before even considering eBay. For used items it would have to be even more.

ebay is a joke. full of shit being sold for retail, plus 25 dollars shipping and handling. the ONLY thing its good for is finding rare items.

I buy from ebay all the time. NOS items for my lawnboys and older string trimmers that still work great, cabin air filters for my Titan ($11.00 shipped), composite cables for an xbox so my son could play it on an old tv for $2.99 shipped, etc.

There are good deals to be found out there. I'm currently looking for something I can't find anywhere though but I'm sure it will eventually pop up on ebay.

$0.35 = saving 8.75%

I thought it'd be fun to see if I could get something cheaper on ebay by doing a Make Offer. The bottom line is that the process is annoying because sellers think their shit is worth more than it is. Not trying that again.

the whole offer thing on ebay is stupid as shit. if they are willing to accept offers lower than the listing price, then they should be listing it at a lower price.

Remember when eBay was an auction site for private sellers? Yeah, those were the days. Craigs is destroyed now, too. Thanks, internets.

50cents, a lot of money
you save 50cents here and maybe you go somewhere else, maybe you save another 50 cents
then you have one dollar
then you take your dollar, you go to one dollar store, and you buy something else

Funny because the guy was probably thinking:

Bottom line is that if you're going to try to nickel and dime me for less than Amazon then you can go fck yourself...

This must be a joke though because sane people don't get into such a fit over $0.35.

I use ebay to buy every now and then, but always sort by buy it now and free shipping.. I can occasionally find stuff cheaper than everywhere else.

I just recently used it to sell for the first time in 6+ years. Holy hell, they sure kill you with their fees. I think between the ebay and paypal fees, I got $70 on a $100 item.

Just buy it for the damned asking price. Man, some people take rejection so hard.

I'm all for getting the best deal whenever I can, sometimes to a fault, but come on. 35 cents? I don't care if it's 50% of the price. You want 35 cents? I'll paypal it to you.

It's like those people who make a trip across town because gas is 5 cents a gallon cheaper. Great, you just saved A DOLLAR to fill your tank. Hell, even if the one across the street is 5 cents cheaper, I won't bother if it means making extra left turns across traffic.
