Hi, I recently purchased a 128 Bit 256 MB DDR Memory Sapphire Radeon 9800 Atlantis. Now I am wishing to OC this thing, but when I go to any overclocking threads or how-to's, there's options for 9800's, 9800 SE's, and 9800 Pros. But on the packaging for my card, there isnt anything that says SE or Pro.

Im sure this card isn't a Pro, but im not sure if its an SE or not. I have looked around and haven't found any cards that are plain 9800's, have 128 Bit, and 256 MB...so I dont know exactly what kind of card this is! I have all the original packaging and the box, manual, etc. that came with the card so I will give any info out that can help me.

I want to overclock this (if possible) and I would think that knowing precisely what kind of card I have would be most useful. ;)

It's an SE. There was a big ruckus over here a few months back about how misleading Sapphire's packaging was. Sorry dude, you got screwed.

Actually, his card is *probably* the 128-bit "9800Pro" (8 pipes, 128-bit memory, close to or actual Pro clocks). It doesn't really matter in terms of overclocking; they all use the same utilities.

Yea im really hoping I didn't get screwed....because if I did I am sure I can find some friends that would enjoy a new graphics card! haha.

If it is indeed a crappy SE and there isn't a way I can overclock this thing a lot to higher speeds or open up something, I guess I will need to find a really nice graphics card that isn't too expensive....

PS: Im not an ATI or Nvidia Fanboy....because in fact, im running this 9800 "crappy version" on a Nforce 2!

Edit: I do have ATI Tool, and am running the latest Omega drivers, but no clue on what to OC this thing to! I have sufficient cooling in my system so I am guessing I could get this thing running pretty fast!
