I bought one of the Athlon 2000 xp chips from outpost.com deal a long while ago. Someone once posted where on AMD website you look to id which chip I have exactly, ie tbird, barton, etc. Does anyone know where to find this info where I can look on a chart for my laser etched id number? Thanks....🙂
 
What's the difference between an XP2600 Model 8 and XP2600 Model 10? Is Model 10 Barton? because I haven't seen any XP2600 Bartons for sale, but XP2600 Model 10 is listed as an option on AMD's website.
 
Ok, says I have an Athlon XP2000 model 6. What is the difference between my cpu and diffrent models of the same speed? For example say a model 10? Is there a simple guide for finding out what all the new models and revisions have to offer? Thanks again...

Your welcome. Model 6 is a Palomino core. Not good overclockers. AFAIK 1.8Ghz is the top end for the best of these cores.

Only a few stepping in particular can get that high anyway... the highest clocked Palomino's were only 1.733 Ghz anyway... so if you get 1.8 with your CPU, I'd be EXTREMELY surprised.
