Question Identifying fiber optic cable

We have some older fiber optic cable for a long run to another building. To troubleshoot an issue with this run, the local company is asking us for specifications on the cable. I'm not having luck with Google -- I'm hoping you folks can help or at least point me in the right direction. The only markings on the cable say: "Siecor Optical Cable 04-00", followed by a picture of a telephone handset, followed by "-M-". They're asking: single mode or multimode (I think multimode?), and 9/125, 50/125, or 62.5/125 (I have no idea). Thanks!

9/125, 50/125, or 62.5/125 refers to the diameter of the fibre core.
50/125 and 62.5/125 are both used in multimode fiber, while 9/125 is used for single mode.

Generally speaking, multimode is used in LAN environments and single mode is used for a WAN connection.
If the cable itself doesn't clearly say, try inspecting the connectors wherever the fiber terminates to see if it might be labelled there.

The outer jacket should clearly specify what the cable is.
