Identifying a 90nm A64 3500+

Hey,

Soon I will be getting an A64 3500+ S939 (hopefully 90nm) cpu with an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard and a BFG Geforce 6800 GT OC.

Anyways, I've searched all over this board, and cannot find the answer to my question. Is there anyway to identify a 90nm 3500+ over a 130nm 3500+? Is there any type of markings that identify the fabrication process on the CPU itself? How would I go about identifying a 90nm 3500+ in retail packaging?

Or, is the reason the question not been asked is because there in fact is no way to tell, your supplier just has to know what the shipment is?

Great -- thanks alot. However, I doubt the salesperson will let me open the retail packaging up to check. Hmm -- I hope the salesperson isnt clueless then, and knows what they are selling.

A great place to shop if you are shopping online for it breaks down the AMD64's by chipset and 130nm/90nm

yeah, the "enhanced virus protection" sticker means it's a 90nm part. All A64's have the feature, but they added the sticker on the latest revision. Most 90nm parts you see are OEM, so they should say which revision it is. Oh, yeah, pricewatch has the 3500 90nm retail for $267.

i would buy from a place where they do NOT state the exact chip revision.

The 90nm 3500+ OEM is "ADA3500DIK4BI"...the 130nm is "ADA3500DEP". In case of doubt better assume its the 130nm part, i THINK the boxed ones they sell are mostly 130nm. [Winchester == 90nm]
