Identify this SNES RPG for me?

I was playing chrono trigger the other day, and them i remembered abother SNES RPG.. but i forget it's name.

the fighting wasnt turn based.. you actually controlled your character's weapon, instead of selecting attack/item/etc.

You start in the woods somewhere.. i forget. but you find a sword (i think?) that is either broken or cursed or something.

you go back to your village, and you're banned.. i forget why.

does this ring a bell for anyone? i cant recall the name, and havent played it in a long time.

I think it's my 2nd favorite, I'm partial to Earthbound myself. The guys who made that game were on some goooood stuff.

No way. I liked it. The last 1/4 of the game was hard and I liked the final villian.
