Hi

Could anyone identify this graphics card from it's images I posted down. The gpu is rv350/radeon 9550 (old I know). I found this one in an old stuff sale and I wanted to have it. But when I put in the pc I discovered that it's flash was modded, and I'm not sure whether it has 128 or 256 MB ram. It's a nice overclocker though.

You can right click on the picture you want to enlarge, and select view image from the popup menu, the image will show in the same window by itself without the web page. Press ctrl and + simultaneously to enlarge.

Thanks for the reply.

I did that already, but the image is so low resolution it's just blurry.

Believe me I did google the serial numbers on the back, and it didn't yield a good result. One of these serial numbers was like aa-9550 or aa-r9550 and the other was like crash-r9550. Google didn't make any result out of these.

SlowSpyder you're a hero, I wonder how did you find this picture? I'm sure that you're not slow at all.
My card is a 9550 not 9600, and I thought that the page that showed the image you posted would mention the manufacturer of the card, but it didn't. Since yesterday I've been searching back and forth through that site to find something, yet nothing of either the manufacturer of the 9600 you posted or a card that's like mine have shown. But many thanks for your post you almost solved it.

I don't remember a 9550 (though it obviously exists... was a long time ago) so I searched if the RV350 was used in the 9600 series, it was. So I did an image search on 9600's and looked for one that had three caps in a row in the corner, found it.

You said the card is a nice overclocker, so I assume you have it installed and running. Download GPU-z, it should tell you how much memory you have and the manufacturer.

I'm a linux guy, I don't have windows running at the moment. Also as I said before the card's bios is modded, so any numbers or even data could be modified values. I knew that cause the memory was running at 351MHz not a usual frequency for such a card, which actually brings a laugh to me about the guy who sold me this card, if you would like I can share it with you.

These are selected lines of the output of a command called "dmesg" in linux

[ 20.306908] [drm] Detected VRAM RAM=256M, BAR=256M
[ 20.306910] [drm] RAM width 128bits DDR
[ 20.310137] [drm] radeon: 128M of VRAM memory ready
[ 20.310149] [drm] radeon: 128M of GTT memory ready.

As you can see, there are lines that say the video ram is 256MB, also others say the ready video ram is 128MB. The lines that talk about 256MB can be meaning the amount of memory that the gpu can access, not the actual installed memory on the card, this is why I'm trying to make sure cause there is another program that tells me also that the memory size is 128MB but this could be a modified value and the ram on the device is actually 256MB, and I can just reflash the bios with 256MB ram size to access the whole memory space, but I need to make sure.

looked for one that had three caps in a row in the corner

I did make a search on google images, but I searched for a card that had the whole silhouette of my card, and the color sort of blinded me. Your search was both brilliant and lucky.

Just taking a guess here, but maybe you are seeing 128MB and 256MB mentioned due to the AGP aperture setting. Check your bios, if it shows AGP aperture set is to 128MB that might be it. It is a bios setting, not sure how Linux manages that. But changing the value in the bios and then seeing what is reported once you're in booted to your OS should be easy enough to test.

Still can't believe the small *r*py photos the OP put in his post and expecting someone to be able to tell just like that, kudos to SlowSpyder!
