Hey guys..

there's plenty of ident daemons out there that can just run on 113 and all...
but i cant forward to the port.. and cant have it open..

so i need to run an ident on some other port.. help me out..
i've looked all over the place.

thanks

I think it would be pretty much useless. ident runs on port 113. When something goes to look for ident (WTF does that now days besides retarded IRC servers?) it looks on port 113, if something isn't on port 113 then the checker doesn't see it.

Are you on a college or work network? If so, you can't run daemons on any port.

In case you're not, linux ident is the only one i've seen which can change port settings etc, I never looked for one that runs on windows.

Also, n0cmonkey is correct, there would be no point in changing the settings anyway.

OpenBSD's and NetBSD's identds also allow you to specify the port. Not sure about FreeBSD's, since they don't have a man page for it...

well there is a mirc setting for it to check for ident on any port you tell it to...
i cant connect to certain servers because of this dumb thing

and yes, i'm on a network and i cant configure the port forwarding.. i tried many times, but for some reason it's that 113 that it won't do..

And changing the ident port in mIRC or any ident daemon won't help because the remote end won't know what port you're running it on.
