Ideas on hacking up a Compaq Evo Notebook?

Someone gave me a Compaq Evo N600c Notebook to do with as I please.

Its in perfect condition, but the OS (Win98) is hosed on it and no CD/DVD Rom to reload it. I took out the HD, but its a 15GB and I can't connect it to my PC since I don't have the adapter.

I'm not sure what I can do with it.
Mods? Rip the screen out? Its just sitting here begging for me to do something to it....

buy a 2.5" USB hard drive enclosure and hook it up to your PC (only $15 or so from Newegg). Then you can install stuff to it. Run linux on it and set it up to be a hardware firewall. Maybe create a car-puter to stream MP3's? Or, after you've reinstalled the OS, you could donate it to charity.
