Ideas for vacation alone?

I'm taking vacation for a week (plus the adjacent weekends) very soon. I don't know where to go though. And I'll be going alone. Any places you recommend that don't particularly suck if you are alone? Anywhere in the world is fair game.
 
depending on your orientation; either a gay cruise or a state/country with legalized prostitution.

hahahha... so sex cruises are what a single guy is supposed to do for vacation? I am straight BTW, but I dunno about doing a hooker... how many other guys have been up in that??
 
It depends... Are you single? How much money do you have? Are you driving, or flying?

If I were single, I think I'd hit Amsterdam. Go spend a week in a haze. If not, then I'd go back to Scotland, or go to Ireland. Preferrably Scotland. I'd either rent a car or just take the train all over the country. I'd visit castles, ruins, distilleries, and pubs. At the very least, if I had the money I'd get myself to Europe.

If I were staying in the US and driving, I would do a driving tour of the country and visit friends, spending a couple of days with different people at various places. Another possibility would be to go to Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and/or New Mexico and spend a week trout fishing and hiking.

I'd like to see Vegas eventually, but I have a feeling I'd run out of things to do, or rather things that I was interested in.

Vegas...do like the commercial says...make up a personality...hook up with some flock of women and tell them your a Prince of some foreign europena country and dont speak much english.
 
So far I'm thinking Europe, and definitely hitting up Amsterdam for the smoke. Inside of a week I can probably only visit two or three countries at most. I definitely want to do Italy, see Roman and Greek ruins, visit museums, and I want to get some Absinthe.

I've never travelled outside of North America. All I need is a passport right?

you can order some good absinthe online...that ****** is crazy though @_@ be prepared...
