I would like to set up some encryption system for a small LAN. I only need to encrypt a few files, but those files need to be shared by a number of users. The network is a Win 2k3 Server domain. I was thinking of simply creating an encrypted folder on a data partition on the file server, but I'm not sure how this will affect multiple users connecting to the folder (via mapped drives, most likely).

Anyway, I'm just curious if anyone else has done something similar? I have looked at Cypherix Cryptainer, but I'm not sure how well it would work in this environment. Easy access to the files is important, too; at most I would just want a password prompt to open them.

Cheers in advance

Edit: Was looking into Information Rights Management (or Rights Management Services), which can be used with Win 2k3 Server and Office 2k3 (we are using both). Anyone have experience with this? How well does it protect sensitive files?
