I'm trying to find a cheap way to help a friend keep cig smoke from getting into his pc.

I'm hoping to find a cheap 'filter' paper material I can cut to fit his case fans that he can easily replace when they get too dirty.

Right now we're just thinking of using dryer sheets.

Any ideas?

i had this problem....

unfortunately, nothing will work.
I did use DEMC filters which are sort of good, however didnt get everything, and when clogged would scratch on the fan blade ruining the filter.

Ultimately i ended up custom fabing a external mount for HVAC filter and just have a giant HVAC filter on my rad intakes.

What about just one of those powered air filter things, know a few people use them indoors to keep the cig smoke down, dunno if they actually work but it does seem to kinda. Have to keep them beside the ash tray though.

Best would be to just quit smoking. Better for everyone around user and computer.

Beyond that it is very hard to get a filter media that will catch the smoke without requiring some powerful fans to over come it's resistance, especially as filter gets dirty.
