Ideas for a statistics project

I need to write a paper on the following :
"The purpose of this paper is to discuss the design of a statistical study in an area that is of interest to you. You may either design your own study or discuss a study that has been published in a professional journal that uses a technique studied in class. In either case, you will not be actually doing a study but rather discussing how it is done."

does anyone have any interesting ideas or places where I can find an existing study?

statistics. she just wants us to show that we understand the concepts of a certain type of problem i just wanna find a good idea to talk about.

Here's one that I was going to suggest to some students: Do a statistical analysis (or describe how to do one) that looks at the accuracy of 10 day weather forecasts.

Or, do a statistical analysis of some sort, looking at the actual probability of rain vs. the probability given for rain. i.e. 97% percent of the time there was an 80% chance of rain, it rained..

i woudl do a study on traffic

like, average spacing btw cars at a light, reponse time after light turns green, intersection throughput

I decided to do just comparing of gas millage of 2 vehicles, one of the questions she wants us to answer is ") Discuss how you would proceed through each step of hypothesis testing. For example, be sure to set up your null and alternative hypotheses. Discuss each of the other aspects and how you would make your decision. ." but there is really no null hypothesis to write for this kind of test is there?
