Ideas for a persuasive speech?

I have to give a persuasive speech in my speech class soon. Its going to be of the refutation design, where you basically go through your opponents arguements and break them apart. Does anybody have any good ideas for a topic? I want to stay away from major issues like abortion, drug policy, gun control, etc.
 
Argue why you can come up with topics of your own, without having to resort to the internet to find some help!

Persuade someone (corp) to switch to Linux by countering M$'s arguments that total TCO is less with WIndows.
 
I do think it would be interesting to argue the merrits of chunky or smooth, however I have to find at least three sources of information in scholarly journals and some how I dont think I would have much luck finding that sort of info.
