i was at a local cd joint recently where i picked up the smashing pumpkins' "aeroplane flies high" 5 cd boxset for only $25. they go for a lot more on ebay so i thought it was a really good deal. one of the cds, Thirty Three. cracked into a bunch of different pieces when i dropped my cd player. i've been looking for the cd on ebay and websites, but i can only find either the Thirty Three single, or a cd with 4 tracks (Thirty Three, The Last Song, Aeroplane Flies High, Transformer) while the original haass 6 (those plus The Bells and My Blue Heaven). if anyone has any ideas for where i can pick up this cd, it'd be appreciated. could i mail virgin records and ask them if i send the pieces if i could get a new cd? should i keep searching the internet? help!

No CD cracks into pieces when you drop it -I don't care if you're Lou Ferrigno throwing as hard as you can. Something fishy about this. I've bent opposing sides to a CD together without it breaking -I kept squeezing and it eventually shattered in half, but not lots of pieces. I've put them in the microwave for WAY too long and they were still in one piece.

In any case, common sense says to take it back to where you got it.

the cd store is about an hour from where i live and the boxset i bought was the last one they had. how is something fishy? my cd player and all it's weight came down onto the cd on hard pavement which caused it to crack. i have the main piece of the disc and another small part i can take pictures of if you need. i don't get why this is hard to beleive.

If you want to keep it worth something you sure as hell shouldn't be putting it in a CD player.
