Its been a bit warm down here in So Cal for about 3 days. My ambient room temp right now is about 78f/26c. And I'm using the 1003e4 modified BIOS. I'm running IE right now at 40C!!! That's a bit hotter than before the weather kicked up and I was using IE at 34-35c tops!!! Another thing, I've got a damned fop38 on here! Assuming my room temp is 80f/26c, what kind of temps should I be getting for my 800@1ghz w/ 1.8 volts? Also, is mobo temp largely dependent on CPU and ambient temp? Before the temp increase down here, my mobo was at 26c tops, now its 30c! So any insight is welcome here...

Heck for an Athlon your temps are fantastic, assuming you gain 8C more under full load(which you should test cracking some RC5). Then you are still in "good" temps considering your ambient. So don't worry. If your full load temps start to exceed 55C then worry a little, might affect your OC. But until then, OC away.

I'd consider yourself a lucky mofo. My T'bird 800 won't even post over 1000, its running currently at 1.85V in the mid 900's, and temps going to 45C max. If I had your processor, I'd have it cranked even higher.

Even at 60C max, you don't have that much to worry about. I have tried to burn out every processor I have ever owned, and they all still work (except an old 486 that I never messed with).
