Ideal system configuration recommendation for graphic & web designer

Please help to recommend an ideal mid range & high end desktop system configuration for graphic & web designing applications. (Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Director, Illustrator etc.) The machines will be placed in a Non-AC room. (Peak summer room temperature goes to approx. 38C.) Is AMD better or is it safer to stick to Intel?

AMD X2 is the only way to go in your situation. What is the budgets(s) ???

I would go with an AMD X2 (either the X2 3800 or the X2 4400, depending on your budget), with 2gb RAM. You can skimp on the video card a little, unless you will be gaming.
