I probably missed some messages related to this...but I just got my Celeron 566 to 850mhz...on an Abit BF6 using Abit SLotketIII with a golden orb cooler. Thing is..its at 1.75V right now...and I'm running it at 859mhz(101 buspeed). I tried running SETI@HOME in the background and stuff.....constantly......but the temperature rises to like 47C ...somewhere around there....I know I put the GOlden Orb on right....cuz I've done that before....I got an Enlight 7327 case with extra exhaust fan and basically the case temp is around....88F. The chip will do 892mhz at 1.85V .....is that too high of a voltage?? I don't really see the speed increase from 859 to 892 ....is it worth using the extra 0.1V to get the extra mhz??? Any suggestions would be appreciated ...thank you.

1.85 is a bit high but it should be ok with a gorb and adequate case cooling. The extra voltage is only worth it if you're a hardcore gamer that needs every maximum frames per second. Regular windows tasks will see no difference.

1.95v is the max I have tested as to be useful. 2.0v and above has not helped on 3 chips. The chips run fine up to 2.1, but you have to have good cooling to run 1.95 and great cooling go run 2.1v. I do not advise these high voltages, but I have run them for extended periods myself and have had no problems.
I think 1.85v sounds fine with your GO.

I run my Celeron 566 @ 1.90 volts for 901 MHz with a Golden Orb. It used to need 2.00 volts until I added some Artic Silver grease. I was not comfortable with anything higher than 2.00. I've been running this setup for 3 weeks now with no problems.

My buddy runs his at 2.05 volts for 918 MHz.

Cheers,

I can't believe you guys are reaching higher than 1.90V ....Anyways this morning I returned that chip and got another one.....this one I set at 1.65V(850mhz) ...then I let it run SETI@HOME and went to work....i came back but it froze...but it did go through 3hrs and 15min. of it....does that mean it needs a bit more power to be totally stable??? I set it at 1.70V right now......i know this chip is better than the one I mentioned earlier...any help in stabilizing would be appreciated.

Try playing some 3D games for at least an hour. That will be a good test also run 3D Mark 2000.
