I'm reading this thread and I'm thinking, well that is just plain stupid, how can that guy represent a political party with certain ideals when he himself doesn't actually follow any of those ideals? But even with all that against him, he may get voted in simply because he is running in an area that will only vote for a particular party.
So my idea is, strip him of his association with that party.
If all of the sudden he had to run as an independent, either someone else has to step in for that party, or the voters will have to pay more attention to who they're voting for.
I think it is only fair that party councils can help "purge" the party of its bad eggs so the party as a whole is a better representation of what it stands for.
