Here is my suggestion for getting this thing started.

Send Jesse over there. Have him loaded with explosives. Have him suicide bomb the top taliban officals.

Man, we could kill two birds with one stone...

Based on your information
The reprocissions
Of that situation
Will lead to a deviation
of policy by Richard Nixon
Against assasination
But I do like that suggestion.

Or maybe infect him with some killer new STD, because we all know he couldn't keep it in his pants that long

I sincerely hope he doesn't go over there, he won't do us any good! If he does go, I hope they make him disappear, they'd be doing everyone a favor.

Great plan. We can tell him he'll have seven virgins waiting for him at the perly gates, I'm sure he would go for that. hehehe

Don't discount the usefulness of J. Jackson. He isn't doing anything without the full knowledge of the National Security Council. He gets to play the good guy while Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice and Bush are the bad guys. If the Taliban are talking to him, that is an asset of extreme value. Meanwhile we should be cropdusting those poppy fields for them. Didn't we have defoliants developed for such an occasion? Maybe some environmentally friendly poppy devouring beetles. That would be biblical, a plague of beetles. The could eat up the only cash crop in the country. As a combat muliplier, scatter a few dozen landmines per acre. When the field hands try to pick the beetles off the plants they get a nast surprise.:D

Bush administration's position on jesse now is "Your heart is in the right place but any actions along these lines would be counter-productive." Ie, butt the hell out Jesse.

This is so refreshing, so now you wish for him to die. Hmmmm you probably would have said the same for MLK, Parks, Douglas, Truth, Edgers, Carver, Johns, and etc.

I believe jesse jackson and johnnie cochran should sue afghanistan for the evils of slavery and demand a public apology as well.

<< Well people respect MLK. Kinda hard to respect Jess a lot of the time. >>

Oh really. Hmmm thats odd. I could have sworn MLK was locked up, beaten, spit on, had dogs sick on him, knocked down with a water hose, and his life threaten, and eventually killed. You call that respect? It would be the same for Jesse or any other black or minority for that matter who said anything contrary to the "American" way, except today we enjoy the full protection of the law. I certainly don't condone his adulterous behavior, but that is not why he is hated by you and many others. We all know why, but I'll leave that for another day.

Wow...mentioning Jesse Jackson in the same sentence as all those other great Black leaders is pretty insulting! Aside from being a great orator and an ordained minister, the similarities between he and MLK are few and far between. He hasn't the courage of Rosa Parks, the intelligence of Frederick Douglass, and he doesn't even compare to the other names you throw out, even in terms of actions, let alone abilities.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the "Ambulance-Chasing Personal Injury Lawyers" of civil rights. You may take that as an insult to Jackson and Sharpton, but that is not meant to be an insult against lawyers.

I joked to my girlfriend that enlisting Jackson's help is a win-win situation for the US. If he can bring back Osama, that's awesome. If he never returns, that wouldn't bother me either. Now, I don't wish death on ANYONE, not even Jesse Jackson. Well, I guess I wouldn't mind seeing Bin Laden die by having his nuts cut off and then lodged in his throat, but I seriously consider Jesse Jackson to be nothing more than a headline-hungry footnote in politics. All that, of course, is IMO :)

He was not respected then, but he is now. However was MLK ever called a joke, and a hypocrite? People did not agree with MLK but he was not a clown. This morning on CNN Jesse seemed concerned only with Christians in Afghanistan. What about the non-Christians?

but that is not why he is hated by you and many others. We all know why, but I'll leave that for another day I don't hate him. He has done some things that were good. In many cases, however, he is a moron. This is one such case.

Why is it so terribly impossible for you to understand that just because the people on anandtech dislike somebody who happened to be of color they are not racist? Anytime somebody says anything negative about a Black person they are deemed racist by you. I think MLK did a great job. I think Powell is doing a great job (Oh to you he's probably gone white hasn't he...). I think Denzel Washington is a kick-ass actor. I think Jesse Jackson acts like a clown often. How do you explain this and write it off as racism?

I don't know why Jesse thinks that these irational religious zealots would have even an ounce of respect for him. I'd only be semi-surprised if it was a trap to further slight the US and its "non-islamic ways".

Jzero,
LMAO at your Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the "Ambulance-Chasing Personal Injury Lawyers" of civil rights comment. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about these two particular individuals.

Maybe we can send Jesse over in a 757 and let him fly it into one of their hospitals or churches, see how they like it.

Well first of all he has no courage? Oh really? Well I believe he was the right hand man of MLK. I believe it was him who marched on the front line of the absolute disgrace in Selma Ala. I believe the 3 soldiers who were being held captive, who were white by the way, that is for those who call him racist, he got them released. When everyone else failed. There was a pretty publicized story of another white woman who was being held in Peru on some kinda charges for over 5 years. He got her released. When Great Britain who had some of their soldiers captured in some Islamic country, it was Jesse who went and helped negotiate their release. When he had the sit in against "Zero Tolerance" people here and abroad said he did it because the kids were black. He stated that he did it because it would bring a rush to judgement for minority kids and children in general. Well guess what, he was right. Where did all his detractors go on that subject?

Seems like I defend him and I do to a certain degree. Why? Because despite his mistakes this is one person who paid the price from the beginning. Last week a thread was started ripping him for not saying anything. Now he speaks up and wants to try to avoid more bloodshed and he's put down again. But I ain't surprised. Same attitude of those who condoned the same attacks and mistreatment of Arabs because of their ethnicity last week. You think any of the former black leaders were regarded or spoken of any different, than you all speak of Jesse today. I can't say much about Sharpton, don't anything about him actually. Farrakhan is as racist as they come. But you guys talk about black leaders.

What about the white ones. Lets talk about Helms. How about Trent Lott's 20 year history with one of the most racists organizations in America, Council of Conservative Citizens. Lets talk about Hatch and Ashcroft's support of the racist magazine Southern Partisan. How about the honorable minister Matthew Hale. What about the former republican darling, Pat Buchanan. How about David Duke? KKK anyone? How about the Aryian Nations? Is he anymore a media whore than Rush Limbaugh, who is divorced 3 times over. You see there is plenty to talk about. Both black and white. But all I ever see is the same old same old. I guess its time to accept the way some here are and just forget about it. I don't understand it. Most computer geeks and most people who come here are just that, have more education than the average person. But I guess brains is no substitute for character or understanding.

I was thinking that we could exchange Jesse for the aid workers that are currently hostages. Then the Taliban could use Jesse as a human shield instead. Then no more Jesse! :D :D :D :D :D

classy I'm not a fan of JJ. However, you have good points there. I remember when he went to Serbia and helped free the 3 soldiers who were captured/kidnapped by the Serbians. I'll agree with you regarding JJs negotiating skills.

Well I'm right there next to you sh*ting down the throats of some of the people who came out of the woodwork recently, such as that guy (what was his name...) that refered to Muslim head-pieces as diapers. Then he went off on various other crap. I've been in lots of the anti-arab threads with many of the other people on AT saying how discraceful it is.
