Take a 17" monitor
Gut it
Place an LCD in where the CRT would have been
Install the normal PC components in the copious amounts of empty space left behind from the CRT and it's electronics
It seems to me that you'd have pleanty of space inside, it'd be well ventilated, and it wouldn't take up much space.
