sman789, I have twin 80gb 8mb Maxtors on Highpoint converters in raid 0
Haven't had any issues.

You really should have the same size drives for a raid setup though, if I remember correctly
it will only show up as 160gb in a raid setup. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I2S also has some nice ones. Both come with power cables, the Highpoint
are cleaner looking IMHO, as they are inclosed.

I have a new set of the I2S ones PM me if interested.

edit, I just checked here your
board may come with converters. I have a BH7 and it came with one converter.
(BH7 board only has one SATA plug)

hope this helps

Dave

My system, Gigabyte SINXP1394 SIS655, P4 2.4bC1 @ 3.0ghz, 2X 512 CorsairXMS 3500 C2
Ati Radeon 9700Pro.

No I'm not using the I2S converters, I'm using the Highpoints.
I ordered the I2S converters as back ups after reading that some people
over at ABXzone forums were haveing some issues with Highpoints on Maxtor
hard drives. If I remember right they said data loss and file corruption were
the issues, and all were switching to the I2S's with success. They were all OCing
their systems. The only problems I've had is lossing windows do to a failed OC.

I'm not a 100% sure, but If I remember correctly you have to format when you
create your raid array. I would definately back up your data before, and if raid 0
is your choice backup regularly.

you know you're going to lose part of the 120GB drive when you setup the RAID, right?

^^yesh as stated above.....raid doubles whatever the smallest drive is.
But the performance difference should be good enuf to make me not regret it....hopefully
