IDE Raid0 question

On a Raid controller with 2 drives, should the drives be on the same ide channel (1 drive as master and 1 drive as slave?), or should they be on seperate IDE busses as masters?

I am trying to set up the drives to be seen as one 120gb drive, then partition the drive into a 5gb os partition and a 115gb storage partition.

Answered your question in your other thread. I understand you want answers quick, but try not to start a new thread for no reason. 😉

Um, WD drives are NOT stable set as "MASTER" when they are the only drives on a channel. You must set them as "SINGLE" or NEUTRAL"

From WD:

<<<If you are installing the Caviar drive as the only IDE drive on the cable and the system plus the ribbon cable do not support Cable Select, leave the jumper shunt in the neutral storage position. >>>

Trust me, I know this. The symptoms of not setting the jumper correctly are spotty recognition of the drives by your BIOS and Windows.

Yup, that's what I told the guy in his other post. 😉
