IDE RAID... Over 60GB problem? Please refresh

I remember reading somewhere about a problem with IDE RAID, over 60GB or something like that. I don't remember if it was because of a certain controller or MB.
Would someone please refresh my memory, and point me in the right direction?

I know it's not a problem with the Promise controllers of recent years, I have tried IBM and Maxtor drives with them at 80G with no problems.

It's more of the problem of the BIOS.. if u have onboard raid, and the bios supports over 40/60/80/unlimited, then ur fine but some old bios/raid card can't because it's just too old.. if flashable, it should be no problem..

Thanks for the info. I thought that it was an "onboard" controller type problem, but couldn't remember for sure.
