Any time I play a sound that originates from my HDD's I get weird noises from the sound card (high pitch trills and squeaks). I have all off the latest drivers and I'm not overclocked. I removed the card and put it back and I still have the problem. the strange things is all cd's and dvd's play fine.

I bought a new mb the Asus TUV4X and did a fresh install of W2K Pro with SP2 and Via's 4n1 4.37's and I still can't play and wav/mp3 sound through the soundcard with out all the weird noises. It's like every time the OS acsesses the Hdd I hear it thru the sound card I have moved the cards from slot to slot but to no avail I really need help on this one.

I can run the sound card just fine without using the Raid card (Adaptec 1200A) but I paid $108 for that damn card and I want to use it. Both Adaptec and Creative don't have nothing about it on their web sites and there are no new drivers to be had for both cards and I got the lastest bios for my board. I'm all out of ideas and can't afford to get a new raid card. I turned off Plug-n-play in the bios but to no avail still got the staic and what-not. I took the card back and got a new one twice already and I can't justfiy to the wife (been married 8 months now still can't belive it) why I'm buying a new sound card when the one I have works fine in her system. And the old one (SBlive x-gamer) works fine in my system with the raid card. I was on the phone with creative for and half hour and spoke to no one and I didn't even try calling Adaptec. I have just about given up on this issue. I know it is the raid card but I don't know how to fix it :disgust:

The placement of the cards are as follows:

AGP: Geforce2

PCI 1: Empty

PCI 2: Raid

PCI 3: NIC

PCI 4: Audigy

PCI 5: Modem

PCI 6: 56k Modem

Now I have moved the cards around as much as I can but do to problems between The Geforce and the NIC and the Geforce and the Audigy my options are limited
