Hi all!
I would appreciate any help you can give me with my problem. I just finished building a computer with the SK8N motherboard and i'm having difficulties getting an IDE RAID array set up. I have two IDE ATA133 Western Digital 120GB SE WD1200JB drives that I would like to create a RAID 1 array with. The problem i'm having is that when I use Fastbuild to create the RAID 1 array, I get an error message which states:
"Some drives do not permit the Slave drive to continue to function if the Master drive fails. Master/Slave drives in a mirror array is aborted."
It won't let me create the RAID 1, but has no problem with a RAID 0 array. I have both of my HDs connected to the PRI_RAID1 connector on the motherboard with one UltraDMA hard drive ribbon cable (Black connector to Master, Grey to Slave and Blue to the PRI_RAID1 connector.). One drive is set to Master, the other to Slave. I've tried all of the different jumper settings (Master/Master, Master/Slave, Cable Select on both drives and even no jumpers set at all) to no avail. Could someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong? I would appreciate all the help I can get.
