I have a soyo dragon+ (4 ide channels) and 4 ide devices (3 hdds and a cd writer). How much performance would i lose if i set my cd writer as slave to one of my hdd's and another hdd to slave of the other hdd? Instead of putting them all as masters on each channel. There are way too many ide cables in my case right now, its just tooo messy.

It depends. If you're going to access both devices on the IDE chain at the same time, then you're better off putting them on separate channels.
