The other day I replaced an old IDE cable with a new round cable. I checked all connections and booted it up, but no devices were detected during the startup. They were not detected in the BIOS either. I have a WD1200 (master) connected to my CD-R/RW (slave) for the primary IDE and a Pioneer DVD-ROM (master) connected to my ZIP drive (slave). I figured it was a faulty cable, but I switched it back out and it still wouldn't detect them. Right now my PC is booting off of just two devices (my hard drive and DVD-ROM) and I have lost the use of my other two devices. I had my power supply go out last week and I replaced it. Could that have damaged my mobo? Another thing to add is that none of my onboard USB 2.0 or Firewire are working.
