Phew! It's been a while since I've been in the forums.... I guess school and work has really kept me that busy.
Anyway, a couple weeks ago, my computer asked me to format it (yes, it asked me). Everythign went fine, except now, every time my computer access the hard drive (or whenever the little orange light comes on) my computer "skips". The mouse stutters and the music I've usually got going does so also. IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS! Now, there's not much of a problem in games, since it caches everythign it needs into RAM, however, it's really annoying when I'm trying to listen to some music or surf the net, or *gasp* get some work done. I tried installing VIA 4-in-1's, uninstalling them, installing individual drivers, etc.
Config is as follows:
ASUS A7V133 mobo
Athlon B 850MHz
512MB RAM
20GB Maxtor DiamondMax
|-->connected to onboard Promise Ultra 100 controller
|-->HD is only thing connected to Ultra 100, everyhtign else is on normal IDE channels
And finally... WindowsXP Pro
help? please?
