IDE HDD, 5400 RPM...7200 RPM... What's Next?

As far as IDE hard disk drives are concerned, what is the next step? We've made the leap and reaped the benefits of going to 7200 RPM drives, so what is holding us back from anything higher? Is it the heat, noise, lack of available bandwidth, etc ? Will we see 10,000 RPM drives now that S-ATA is taking root? I would like to hear your opinion on the matter.
