IDE harddrive issue with Asus P5Q E

So i have an SATA harddrive installed as my boot drive. I then have a dvd-rw and an IDE harddrive. The dvd-rw works perfectly fine, but the ide harddrive is not getting recognized by the bios or Vista. Any ideas what could be the problem?

i tried setting the harddrive to cs, slave and master, set dvdrw to master and cs when harddrive was on cs. Cant get this thing to work for the life of me.

Try it without the DVDRW drive. Just the PATA HDD set as Master on the ribbon's end connector.

It should work with everything as CS. Anyway, try the HDD by itself. If that works, then add the DVDRW as Slave (Middle CS connector.)
