I have got here an old IDE hard drive from a computer that no longer boots past the BIOS screen ready to go to windows.

I took the hard drive out of it and put it in my working USB -IDE hard drive enclosure. (My media player)

It isnt getting read on my computer either, no matter what jumper settings...

Is there any hope for the hard drive? It stopped working shortly after a power cut in the house it was being used in.

I turn the disc on, the computer beeps to say new hardware but the hard drive never gets shown in my computer. Also, when i power down the hard drive, a new drive appears for a second or so, then goes. When the hard drive is turned on, I can't load up computer management to see if that can see the hard drive.

Any help would be great, as there is important stuff on the drive that I'd like to keep Cheesy

EDIT: I believe the hard drive was recognised as being there by the BIOS, but still wouldn't work to load up windows.
