IDE Fried?

I've recently built my new PC, ASUS P5W DH, E6600, and the other day my DVD drive stopped working.

I've tested two cables, two IDE slots, and even returned my DVD drive for a replacement and still had the same problem.

All my cables are connected properly, all my power connectors are plugged in correctly, I'm getting power to the DVD drive (It opens but windows does not see it) but still its not working.

In windows it does not see the drive, in device manager it does not see it, and the BIOS does not see it.

Could it be my IDE slots are dead? Or somehow disabled? I checked thru my BIOS and everything was on Auto (like it was when it worked).

Should I RMA my mobo? Could there be some other explanation? Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have u try ur dvd drive on other computer?

u can test ur IDE slot using ur hard disk, unplug the dvd drive.

or maybe ur dvd drive is blowed or damaged by static.

I've returned my DVD drive and bought a new one, even tried my old one from my last PC. I don't have another PC to test the DVD drive in.
