I have a ASUS P4B533 mobo that can support 4 ide devices. I am wondering if the Promise Ultra133 TX2 controller. It says its a ATA/133 controller that can control 4 IDE devices. Would this let my computer/mobo handle 4 more devices on top of the Motherboard? It goes in a PCI slot. If i get this, will it allow up to 8 IDE devices being connected? Thanks for any help.

yes, that is right, 8 devices....your best off putting your HD's on promise controller and CD-ROM's on the motherboard ide controller.

wtfOO, first off, I'll suggest you turn on your PM (Private Messaging). Second, if you plan to buy a Promise Ultra133 TX2 controller LMK. I have a new one I bought before I decided on my mobo; I'll let it go cheap. FYI my Heatware is Jeff_H.
