Is anyone using one?

I installed one on my systems so I can organize the wires inside my computer. However, when I connected my back up hard drive to it, I wasn't able to boot up my computer. I can't figure it out.

(Before I hooked up the IDE Controller)
- Primary Master -> HDD 1
- Primary Slave -> HDD2

(After I hooked up the IDE Controller and my computer wouldn't boot up)
- Primary Master -> HDD 1
on the IDE Controller -> HDD 2 set as Master

Can anyone help me get it to work?

TIA

change the jumpers on the boot HD to reflect the fact it is now a single drive and not truly master ?
good luck

There's only "Master" "Slave" and "Cable Select" jumper options...are you saying I should move it to "Slave?"

some drives have a 4th setting for single . i don't have a seagate at the moment and don't recall what they need for a single . example WD drives use no jumper for a single.
does everything work ok if you replug the drives the way they were ? are you sure you moved the correct drive to the ide controller ? (ata card ?) are things showing up correctly in the bios ?
good luck

Yeah when I put the drives back in original order, the system boots up fine.

No jumper = "Slave"

The drive on the IDE controller shows up during POST but I haven't tried looking it up in the BIOS...I'll try that.

Thanks!

Is the drive on the IDE controller your boot drive? How exactly is everything set up?

Primary IDE on MB --> Boot Drive set as master

On Primary IDE controller ---> Back up drive set as Master

Try putting the drive back on the MB controller then installing the drivers for the controller card onto it. Then move it back to the controller card.
