Ok here's the deal I got the 24X Lite-On burner (Yea SD2 copying here I come.) And I wonder what IDE channel/master/slave set up would be best? i currently have a Epox 8K7A board on Channel one I have a 7200rpm ata/66 HD. on channel two I have the 24X burner as master with a Creative 5X DVD on the slave.

Should I switch out the DVD as a slave to the HD?
Keep the same?
Buy a ATA/66/100 card and put something on that?

And do you think the 5X DVD is enough (32X i believe as CD-rom) output for the 24X burner?

i got some input b4 but I cannot find that now :(

thanks in advance!

I would try it out..but sounds good..hdd on it own channel and cdrw and dvd on the other..just note you may have problems doing on-the-fly burning esp at 24x....I realize Liteon has burnproof but performance will not be at max for on-the- fly burning with the cdrw and dvd on the same channel..but if you place the dvd on HDD ide you will degrade its perfomance

I should note on one system i have raid/ata 100 setup..but in my old intel bx system I have a cdrom as master and cdrw as slave and this works great too IMHO..but not best again for on-the-fly burning....

I take this is a nonraid mobo...
