IDE channel question

Can 2 IDE devices (1 Hard Drive and 1 DVD Drive) be connected on the same IDE channel? Intel motherboards only have 1 IDE slot? I have 1 SATA Hard drive and 1 IDE Hard Drive, and I need both.

Yes, set the device at the end of the cable to "Master" and the device connected to the middle connector to "Slave".
