Ide cables wont fully go in the mobo and hdd

:| i just got a iwill xp333-R and a new hdd, wen i tried to place the ide cable to the hdd only 75% of it went in and same for the hdd. Both didnt fully go inside, why is this?

Do you have any different IDE cables that you could try...maybe you just got bad ones. Or maybe for that HDD they aren't supposed to, I dunno.

i bet your cables are fine, do the drives work ok? I think you are just expecting for there to be less of the ide connector sticking out of the drive and motherboard than there is.

if this is not the case, then look at the mobo and the ide connector side by side -- lots of ide cables have a blocked out pin on them and some crappy motherboards have a pin where there shouldnt be one. if this is the case you will have to find another ide cable without the blocked out pins
