Hi,

I was wondering if anybody tried putting up a raid 5 array using a combination of IDE and SATA drives? I am planning to use a LSI megaraid sata 150-6, 1 300 GB IDE seagate HD and 3 300 GB SATA Seagate HD.

Would this combo work if I put a IDE-to-SATA converter into the one IDE HD?

Thanks

to you'r original question, pata to sata converter should do the trick but there not cheap either.

/edit
although a lot cheaper then scsi to s/p-ata, somewhere between 30$ to 50$ i think.
