I'd like an "intelligent" cut/paste behavior in windows:

I often get annoyed with Windows where I'll cut a bunch of files (big MKV) from one location, and paste to another drive. I'll then cut another series of files (big MKV), intending to paste them to the same destination drive/different directory after the first transfer is complete... somehow, though, I'll spend time reading online, copying text, and my file cuts are FUBARd. I want a Windows cut/paste system with different flags for files/text/links.

Anyone else have trouble with this shit, or just me?

Use copy/paste instead, then delete after successful copy. Cut/paste is kind of dangerous, especially for important stuff.

Thanks, but:

I'm talking about the unneeded mechanics of an operation, not of redundancy. Cut/paste isn't dangerous in my application. I've been dealing with file-system redundancy for twenty-five years... what I'm wondering is why operating systems don't understand the difference on cutting a physical file to a " clipboard", and cutting a block of text or a link to others.

I guess that would be useful, and shouldn't be hard to implement, but I don't have issues with the way things work now.

Right, when you paste the system should operate on the last file on the clipboard.
What is the problem with the Windows clipboard that causes this not to happen?
Does the clipboard only have one entry?
