ID & key works with any Win2k disk?

I have a legit product ID number and key code for Win2k, but no CD. The computer was given to me with Win2k loaded when I was working as a consultant, but they didn't give me the media.

Will my ID and code work with any Win2k disk? I want to reinstall the OS to clear out years of accumulated crud in the registry.

Thanks....

What type of install key is it? Retail, OEM, etc.. etc..??

As long as the disc type, is the same product as YOUR install key is associated with, you would be good.

It's a Dell. so I imagine it's a Dell OEM install. So I would need to find a Dell OEM CD?

Dell Usually place the setup files sumwhere on the HDD

Look for an i386 folder. not sure on files specifics for w2k tho so if they changed the folder name *shrug* I been Very successful with "Creating" Install disc's from setup folder left on HDD's using a combination of info found at RyanVM and NLite Boards
