We just recently got cable service about a week ago. Now I want to share the connection with at least two computers. The one with the cable as of right now is on WinMe and I'm planning to hook it up to the comp in my room which has Win2000. I've been reading tutorials on how to set it up but i haven't found one on how to hook up to different versions of windows. would it pretty much be the same? also, ICS, as i understand would need two ethernet cards. well my cable modem is a usb but it has an ethernet port. Would I still have to purchase anothe NIC card to get the network running? What else would I need to do? Thanks in advance.

No ICS will work with different versions of windows. Just follow the tutorial that you got and you should be fine. You don't need the modem to be connected through ethernet for ICS to work. Otherwise how can all these people with dial up use ICS with their modems?? ^^
