I am using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on my win2k prof machine for my LAN. But the clients are not able to attach files to their emails, open some specific sites(like bankone.com) and also problems with ftp.
Any clue what it could be??? I changed the setting for FTP port to 21 / 2121 but nothing worked.

what are you suing, dialup or dsl/cable? some dsl companies are getting smart, when you use a router or ICS, it puts a 192.168 IP addy on the IP header of the email you send out, they see that and reject it....... but i use ICS with dialup, and share it out to 3 pcs, and it works fine for me. you have the gateway and dns setup right. right?

"I am using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on my win2k prof machine for my LAN. But the clients are not able to attach files to their emails"

Attachments has nothing to do with ICS. If they can send and receive mail, ICS is working. Maybe your mail server host is limiting attachment use.

"But the clients are not able to [] open some specific sites(like bankone.com)"

Sounds like a DNS issue, or your ISP is filtering out certain websites.

"... and also problems with ftp."

ICS should by default let users FTP out to servers on the default port 21. You may have to use Passive, and/or Firewall mode if your FTP client supports it. Try CuteFTP.

The sites are not working on the clients. But they are running pretty well on the machine (gateway) that is directly connected to Internet.

Thats what I have been using. But its a compromise not a solution.
