Saw posts online of people running CM9 alpha on Nook tablet.

Anyone had experience with ICS on Nook tablets?

I currently have a CM9 nightly from a few weeks back running on my Nook Color (so - less potential than the Tablet model), and while I admittedly barely use the thing these days, it does seem quite stable whenever I do end up turning it on. I also have the NC OC'd about 100% too, and it ticks along at what I imagine is the best performance I'll ever get out of this device. The Tablet should have even better capabilities in regards to ICS and the tablet experience in general.

the one problem i have with my nook color running cm9 is touchscreen accuracy around the edges of the screen...it messes with typing sometimes.

i imagine the nook tablet would be better

WHAT DOESN’T WORK
microphone (see below for discussion)
hw composition (see below too)
hw video decoding (basically all TI ducati features are not working)
Bluetooth (we need the GPIO pin # for .nshutdown. If anyone has it, let us know)
FM radio (it should in theory exist, but if like the Nook Color there is no antenna wired up)
Occasional SOD to be addressed in new kernel (got better with 0.01)
only SD card is shown on host via usb mass storage

awesome, ordered mine this afternoon.

I've been looking around for a sub 200 android device, and after a while of searching this seems like a great deal in terms of hardware you get, most other devices at this price have terrible screens, the nook has IPS. BN should just sell an unlocked version loaded with a regular Android they'd have a winner on their hands, their ebook business is getting killed by amazon anyways..

Yes it is still locked, but they [development community] bypassed it.

nook tablet definitely has better hardware. still don't quite understand how they bypassed it. there seem to be more roms for the KF right now just because it was easier to get to. i kind of wish i got the nook tablet if its bootloader has been hacked now, just for the SD card slot etc.

Yeah I was thinking of Kindle Fire but w/o sd card it would be useless for me, other than that both have identical specs.

well the nook tablet 1GB/16b is also faster.

i like that the screen on the fire doesn't have a frame like the nook and thats about it. the placement of the power button on the fire is pretty stupid too . my dad was like, well every time i rest it on this table in portrait mode it hits that button, unless it has a case on it.

i wish one of them had bluetooth, i've heard that the nook might have the hardware for it but have it dsiabled but the fire has it disabled for sure.
