ICS guide for Win2K?

I've got the InfiniSource guide, and though it was helpful for setting up my Win98 (1st ed.) client, I can't seem to resolve the differences between the Win9X server info and my options available in Win2K.

I've searched, but maybe I'm just missing something.

Thanks,
Craig

OK, found www.practicallynetworked.com

Still, after following all the links, it still doesn't work.

Host computer:
- Windows 2000 Pro
- Enabled ICS on the cable modem NIC
- LAN NIC IP 192.168.0.1, Subnet 255.255.255.0
- Everything else blank

Client computer:
- Windows 98
Tried two TCP/IP configs:
1a. NIC Auto IP
1b. DHCP for WINS enabled
1c. No Gateway
1d. Disable DNS

2a. NIC IP 192.168.0.2, Subnet 255.255.255.0
2b. WIND disabled
2c. Gateway 192.168.0.1
2b. DNS Host: (Name of Host computer), DNS Search Order: 192.168.0.1

Both machines can ping one-another. File and printer sharing works. The host machine has access to the internet through @home, and still works fine.

The client machine can not connect to the internet, and can not ping any internet sites (request timed out)

OK, what'd I do this time?

Thanks,
Craig

I have the same setup and on the 98 machine I just have

Obtain IP automatically and Enable DHCP for WINS

works great. The client just assigns itself an IP and my file and print sharing works

Just remember on your host computer you have to have "use netbios setting from DHCP server selected on your host and NetBIOS installed on the host"

You 'da man!

I am posting this from the client machine - it works! Thanks, kantonburg.

Regards,
Craig
