I'm going to be setting up internet connection sharing in my house. Right now the box with the 56k modem is a win98se machine. Should i upgrade it to w2k? Also, do i have to leave the box with the modem connected to the internet all the time or can another box(the one sharing the connection) iniate the dial to the ISP.

thanks

Hi,
I suggest you use NAT32 or Sygate. These are both third-party software that have more functions than ICS. Try them out before you jump to Win2K. ICS in win98 always gave me problems, so I decided on third-party. Best of Luck.

win98se is fine...
you can leave it connected all the time...if not..you can connect with the client PC..BUT you cant have two computers on the smae network doing ICS...

what do you mean. Both computers can't use the connection at the same time? Or both computers can't have ICS setup on them??
