icq problem - Can't connect

I was using icq (new beta version icq2001b I thnk?) for about a week
with no problems. Tried connecting this morning and got this
error message, 'Can't establish connection. Check your Internet connection
and reconnect ICQ.' My internet connection is fine. I tried reinstalling
over my existing install (without uninstalling) and that didn't work. Tried
uninstalling and then reinstalling... that didn't work.
Been banging my head trying to get the damn thing working all morning.
Any help would be appreciated.
