Hi,
I told ICQ that I'm behind a firewall (SMC barracade) and told it to use a 5 port range of addresses for incoming file transfers. I have these ports open when the 5190 port is opened by ICQ. This is great and everything EXCEPT for the fact that no incoming file transfer attempts to use these ports
Under connection I have the following set ...
Connection Type - Permanent
Firewall IP Settings - ICQ will determine IP automatically
ICQ Server - login.icq.com - 5190
Proxy Settings - Using Firewall - Not using proxy
Firewall tab was untouched
Advanced Users - Not using Proxy - Use the following TCP listen port for incoming event (56565 to 56570)
On my firewall I have 5190 set as a trigger to open 56565 through 56570.
I see that someone tries to initiate a file transfer but it doesn't happen. Checking the firewall log shows things like ....
Saturday, April 13, 2002 10:26:00 PM Unrecognized access from xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1184 to TCP port 27967
You'll note that 27967 is NOT between 56565 and 56570.
Anyone have any ideas?
